Personal | Macro Monday + Free Photos

I was going to introduce this concept last week but there was work to go to, and photo shoots to follow up on and schedule, and I was out of the country for a few days so I didn't get any blogging done. But it's a new week and time to get stuff done!

So Macro Monday is just what it sounds like. I'm going to be taking photos all week and from the macro shots I get I'm going to choose one to post and write about on the following Monday. This will keep me busy.

Because of my limited photography knowledge I'm not trained in the art of macro photography and I may have a completely different perspective of what it is. But this furniture element caught my eye while visiting an aunt and uncle in their beautiful new house and I just had to take a close-up photo of it.

I'm still offering free photo shoots: portraits, weddings, engagements, events and such. I will edit all of your requested photos, and I'll print them in the sizes you choose if you want me to. TRAVEL UPDATE: I will not be scheduling anything from now until April due to the awesome vacation to Ontario/Quebec/New York I will be on. I'll hear from you all then!

Personal | Macro Collection

I was suddenly in a mood for admiring macro photos, including my own. There's nothing quite like the detail found in a macro picture. In honor of this reminiscing I've put together a collage of my favorite macro photos that I have taken since starting photography.

Engagements | Troy and Sarah

These two are adorable in their own "We spend way too much time together" kind of way. I met Sarah at a church event and we became fast friends. Knowing she was engaged I was immediately thinking of all the wonderful things she would get to plan and experience between then and getting married - and that includes the photography. The thought that I could be their photographer never did come to my mind until months later. Now here I am, taking engagement photos with good friends.

The photos I took of them way back in November 2010 were so badly done that I just had to take more as soon as I bought my current camera.

These next photos will be much more enjoyable. I'm so blessed that I could afford the camera I have now. :)

New Beginnings 2.0

After many months of consideration, I've finally decided to get my photography career on the web(and I've changed the name). So this makes it official, right? I'm offering my services at jaw-dropping prices! I was hoping that a full website would be doable, but a free blog will have to be sufficient until I have a steady income from this new venture.

I love photography. I'm willing to step in and preserve your special moment to make it a lasting memory. I would like to start doing engagement, wedding, family portrait, individual portrait, graduation, and advertising/corporate photography.

Favorites from my photo shoots will eventually be posted here for all to view the quality of my work. For customers I will include both originals and edits of all photos taken for them. Pricing and packages are negotiable as I am not a trained photographer - just someone with a dream for the future.
