Portraits | Sara
I can't believe I forgot about posting these photos of Sara! I took these back in October when the fall leaves were intense and beautiful. And I loved having Sara be my model that day. Here's a little adventure story for you. We had hoped to go out to the Crack, some rock formations just a little ways out of Rexburg, but we couldn't find the turn-off, and then when we thought we had found it, the road was too bumpy and dangerous from people driving in the mud and leaving it to dry. So we gave up on that idea and decided Beaver Dick Park seemed like a good idea, and it definitely was! It's such a quaint little campground with some great areas to take photos, and the autumn trees looked so impressive. What started as disappointing turned into a fabulous photo project.

Head Shots | David Cammerron
My husband joined Genevive and I for head shots as well. He helped with finding a suitable location to take the photos, setting up the lighting, and finding good backdrops. I think he also does a great job posing for photos (only slightly biased).

Art | Ceramics and Drawings
So my talented sister has all this great art, and she wanted me to take pictures of it all before we left home for college. A few weeks later I finally got to edit them, and they look great!

Engagements | Sam²
I met Samantha and Samuel before they even knew each other; Samantha I met years ago as youth at church and we were great acquaintances until more recently, Samuel is a good friend I've gotten to know through the Young Single Adult branch we attend at church. Both are beautiful, loving people with inspiring personalities and so much faith. I'm so grateful to be friends with them, and even more grateful to be their engagement photographer!
Love is beautiful.

Portraits | Lisa
So here's my lovely sister. She had her make-up done all fancy that night and had new clothes, so she actually asked me to take photos of her. Believe it, she asked me. So we grabbed a sheet and some lamps for lighting and set up a mini studio and got some great shots! It'll be very convenient to have a studio of my own in the future.

Graduation | Gleneagle Secondary Friends
Eating a grilled cheese sandwich while blogging is very difficult... but oh so delicious. It's taken me quite a while, as you can tell, to finally get these photos edited and blogged, but I'm finally checking this one off my list!
These stunning students actually graduated 4 weeks ago. My friend Tina, who I photographed this year, told all her friends about my work and they agreed to give me the honor of being their photographer for their high school graduation prom. So we all planned to meet up at the location, and I didn't even think about what the Canucks game traffic would be like that evening... so the shoot was a lot shorter than I would've liked, but I'm glad we got some great photos out of it.
And if you happen to be very observant, you'll notice my new logo. It was brilliantly designed by my good friend Cory, an aspiring graphic artist.
Praying for sun!

Personal | Macro Monday, updates, and apologies.
Well hello again! It's been a busy few weeks...
Because there's so much that gets done in the Darkroom, it doesn't make sense that the Darkroom is "dark", or pitch black like everyone thinks. This certain amber coloured light - a safe light - is great because the photo paper we photographers print with isn't sensitive to it! That means the photos won't turn out black, but that also means that I can never see anything outside after I've spent 3, or 4, or 8 hours in there.
So because I've had to spend hours and hours in the darkroom doing homework, along with other various activities of importance I haven't been able to post any photos or even make any quick blog notes. My apologies for those who have been waiting almost a month to see my new photos. But I have been hard at work editing those photos, as well as registering for fall university classes and housing, which I'm very excited for!
So thanks to everyone who's been so patient with me. Once I get sorted out again I'll be back on track! Keep an eye out for those photos!
Enjoy life, don't just endure it.

Personal | busy, busy Macro Monday
"I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it."
I don't remember where I first heard that phrase quoted, but I'm starting to feel the effects of it in my life.
When developing film there are several, sometimes complicated, steps to go through in order to properly develop the photos you've spent so much time composing and taking. And then there's the printing and developing of the photo paper. These things, coupled with a list of other equally important things, make me feel very busy at times. It's not easy to keep track of it all or accomplish, but that's the reason why I can tell it will be worth it.
