Engagements | Rachel & Aaron continued...

Remember these two? Here are their snow photos, as promised! We came back to school from Christmas break to find the town covered in snow, and got to the orchard as quickly as possible. And just as I thought, these photos turned out so well!

This couple just make my day every time I get to see them. They are always so happy and fun, and the love and friendship between them radiates. Any man who can make his woman laugh like nothing else is funnier is deserving of her love.

Riddle for you: What do you get when you put two nerdy best friends together to take photos?

Wedding | Morgan & Rikki

I finally shot a wedding! Well, kind of. I was the Matron of Honor and got to second shoot when I wasn't in the photo. But still! And it was a stunning wedding, full of tears, a busy MoH, and delicious cake. The main photographer, the bride's aunt, took beautiful bridals for the couple the day before, and just as amazing wedding day photos. She was so organized, even having the list of required group photos handy so she could keep track of what to do. I enjoyed standing by and learning by observing a well-seasoned photographer, and I enjoyed being allowed to take photos alongside her as well. Definitely an incredible day with once-in-a-lifetime opportunities.

and myself and the bride of course!

Portraits | Sara

I can't believe I forgot about posting these photos of Sara! I took these back in October when the fall leaves were intense and beautiful. And I loved having Sara be my model that day. Here's a little adventure story for you. We had hoped to go out to the Crack, some rock formations just a little ways out of Rexburg, but we couldn't find the turn-off, and then when we thought we had found it, the road was too bumpy and dangerous from people driving in the mud and leaving it to dry. So we gave up on that idea and decided Beaver Dick Park seemed like a good idea, and it definitely was! It's such a quaint little campground with some great areas to take photos, and the autumn trees looked so impressive. What started as disappointing turned into a fabulous photo project.

Head Shots | David Cammerron

My husband joined Genevive and I for head shots as well. He helped with finding a suitable location to take the photos, setting up the lighting, and finding good backdrops. I think he also does a great job posing for photos (only slightly biased).

Head Shots | Genevive Lael

My dear friend Genevive is so much fun, very photogenic, and an incredible actress, and being an actress, she needs updated head shots in order to audition for roles. I guess I'm the go-to photographer when it comes to photos, and I love it! And head shots are so fun because it requires some different techniques than typical portraiture.

Engagements | Rachel & Aaron

I've known Rachel for just over a year now. We went to see my husband (then boyfriend) perform in White Christmas in Idaho Falls, and we discovered that we were soul mates, mainly because we both love nerdy things. Since then we've both been so busy with school and finding wonderful men that we haven't really spend time with each other, so it was so exciting to get the text from Rachel asking me to take her engagement photos. We were hoping to take snow photos before the Christmas break, but there wasn't more than a few hours of snow during the whole month before the end of the semester, which is a pity because engagements in the snow would look incredible. I promised that we could do snow photos after the break when ever we get snow again, and so they were willing to do a shoot so that they could have photos to use with their announcements. Needless to say, we got some great photos that day.

Engagements | Morgan & Rikki

Sorry about the photos... all of their photo files are on a flash drive that I left at home, so I will update this post as soon as Christmas break is over.

Morgan and Rikki have become two of my best friends in the past few months. Remember this girl? She came back from her mission for the LDS church, and pretty much right away, her super awesome boyfriend proposed to her! Morgan's mom took engagements for them in Los Angeles, CA and did a beautiful job with them. But I thought to myself, I'm good friends with Morgan, she's so much fun to take photos of, we have time, and who wouldn't want extra photos anyway? So I asked, they agreed, and we planned a day for the shoot. And aren't they just great? I had SO much fun photographing this couple, getting to know them better, and giving them some newlywed insight and advice. And it's a darn good thing I did get this opportunity, because not much later the bride-to-be asked me to be her Maid of Honor. Definitely a wonderful experience.
