Portraits | Sara & Nick

My first autumn shoot! Thank you to my best friend and her husband for allowing me to share a few laughs and an afternoon with them. The weather was nice, although cold, the leaves were perfect, and these two are still as wonderful as ever. What another great opportunity to come my way. Life is so full of opportunities, and I keep seeing more and more every day; more opportunities that I've already experienced, more that I've worked hard to make happen, and some that I'm so lucky to just be blessed with.

Look for the opportunities, not the road blocks.

Engagements | Sam²

I met Samantha and Samuel before they even knew each other; Samantha I met years ago as youth at church and we were great acquaintances until more recently, Samuel is a good friend I've gotten to know through the Young Single Adult branch we attend at church. Both are beautiful, loving people with inspiring personalities and so much faith. I'm so grateful to be friends with them, and even more grateful to be their engagement photographer!

Love is beautiful.

Portraits | Meghan

Meghan is a very talented competitive jump roper. She's also a beautiful friend of mine, so when she wanted photos of her jump roping, I couldn't say no, and I also couldn't pass up the opportunity to take portraits of her too. It was definitely the most creative shoot I've done thus far.

Portraits | Dave

This is long over due, but at least it's finally done!

My good friend is a die hard Canucks fan, so logically we would go to Downtown Vancouver to watch the first Stanley Cup Playoffs game. And it was super exciting! The fan energy was exhilarating, the game was interesting, the crowds were exciting, and we won. No big deal. So with that adrenaline from having our favorite hockey team win the game, we went to the waterfront to take some photos.

Dave is one of those camera shy people. It's not that he's not photogenic or something. He just doesn't know what to do when put in the model position, and he kindly gave me a warning about this before we started shooting. But really, it makes for some great photos, and a lot of photos of him laughing or making absolutely hilarious faces.

Graduation | Gleneagle Secondary Friends

Eating a grilled cheese sandwich while blogging is very difficult... but oh so delicious. It's taken me quite a while, as you can tell, to finally get these photos edited and blogged, but I'm finally checking this one off my list!

These stunning students actually graduated 4 weeks ago. My friend Tina, who I photographed this year, told all her friends about my work and they agreed to give me the honor of being their photographer for their high school graduation prom. So we all planned to meet up at the location, and I didn't even think about what the Canucks game traffic would be like that evening... so the shoot was a lot shorter than I would've liked, but I'm glad we got some great photos out of it.

And if you happen to be very observant, you'll notice my new logo. It was brilliantly designed by my good friend Cory, an aspiring graphic artist.

Praying for sun!
