I can't believe I can't get these up on time, but then yesterday was full of stuff to get done, including developing a roll of film for the first time ever.
These are the results of my first Film Photography assignment. They look pretty dark here, but if held up to the light you can faintly make out the detail in some of the photos. And they're dark because these are the negatives. When developed, they will be very white, due to my lack of experience with correct exposure settings. I hope the next assignment turns out much better.

Personal | Macro Monday + SLRs
Today's macro photo is brought to you by Long and Mcquade, the number 9, and the letter G.
I finally have a capo! Not a great big fancy one - I'm not that rich. Just a small capo that does the same job. Plus it's cute.
And on the note of new things, I have a couple new toys to spend my time getting to know. The first one is a film SLR, all my own! Automatic and manual functions, film, 55mm lens.
And the second is an SLR, completely manual, borrowed from my Photography class to use for the assignments. Manual only, film, 50mm lens.
Today's class was a lesson on shutter speeds, apertures, light testing, loading film, and winding the film when it's all used.
I love the sound of the shutter opening on the manual SLR!

Personal | New Camera + Macro Monday
Isn't she beautiful? This is just an online photo as I don't personally have the camera yet. But I am getting it! Manually functional film SLR, 35mm lens. It's going to be great. And, given I can find a 50mm lens for it, I can use it for my film photography class this Summer.
Annnnnnd because I've been awful getting the Monday Macros up, I'll do one today. Yesterday was pretty busy anyway.
On a clear day, dew still lingers.
Taken on the Vancouver LDS temple grounds.

Business | Woods Showcase
I spent two beautiful sunny days on the Sunshine Coast, British Columbia... just to spend most of it inside working. A friend of mine and his father own and operate Woods Showcase in Gibsons, BC. Here's a preview of some of the photos I took for them during my stay on the coast. To see more, visit their website or, better yet, visit the store! There's so many great art pieces to see and gift ideas for every personality, all done by the local artists on the coast. I'm definitely glad I got to take the photos for them.

Personal | Dog Sitting
I haven't seen this friend since high school graduation, which was a while ago now. We finally figured out that we had time to hang and ended up choosing the perfect day too! It was a beautiful sunny day and we took we adorable dog to the local dog park to chill and enjoy the day. I didn't expect to be hanging with dogs though and I dressed up a little too much, but it was fun as long as the dogs didn't try jumping on me. It was time well spent on a sunny Easter weekend.

Events | Emily's Birthday
Emily is a good friend. She's fun and stylish, she's a great mother to her adorable sons, and she had a birthday party!
The guests at the party were requested to come in costume, and they all did a fantastic job. The decorations and food were quirky and delicious, and provided interesting photo subjects. After the food, the games came out. It was Minute to Win it. Basically, the player has one minute to complete a task that (at this party) they randomly chose out of a container. Some of them were particularly hard, but with such competitive couples it was quite entertaining for everyone.

Portraits | Tina
This girl is beautiful! She's another friend I met through church, but I actually didn't know her until she asked me about having me do photos for her. The weather that day was crummy and overcast, and communications for meeting were completely off, and we went to a completely different location than we first planned on, and I wasn't wearing the proper shoes. But I completely forgot those things when I saw Tina through my camera. These photos turned out wonderfully and I couldn't have asked for a better day to do them.
